What we do

Two things. We publish price research — typical 2026 ranges for dental procedures in the United States, Canada and Colombia, with the travel costs included instead of quietly omitted. And we introduce people to dental clinics in Medellín and Bogotá and get them itemised written quotes.

That is the whole business. We do not treat patients, we do not take your deposit, and we do not resell your details to a call centre.

Who runs it

Scout Theory LLC, registered in Ohio, operating on the ground in Medellín, Colombia. That last part is the only competitive advantage that matters here. Most dental tourism websites are run by someone in a different hemisphere who has never walked into the clinic they are recommending. We are in the same city, in the same time zone as the US East Coast, speaking Spanish to clinic managers in person.

When your appointment gets moved, or the lab needs a shade re-check, or a quote comes back with a line item that doesn't make sense, that is a phone call across town rather than an email into the void.

How we make money

Clinics may pay us a referral fee. That is the model, stated plainly, because you deserve to know what the incentive is before you weigh our advice.

Two things it does not change. It never adds anything to your price — you pay the clinic the clinic's price. And it does not buy an endorsement: we will tell you when a case is too small to justify a flight, which happens often, and we will tell you when the price you have been quoted at home is already fair.

No payment for treatment passes through this site. You pay the clinic directly.

What we will not do

• Publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, before-and-after photos, or patient stories. Everything on this site is either a sourced range or clearly labelled as our own view.
• Quote a fixed price for dental work. No honest party can price your mouth without imaging. Anyone who does is guessing, and the number will change when you land.
• Imply that a clinic or an individual dentist holds JCI accreditation. JCI accredits hospitals. Six Colombian hospitals hold it. A dental clinic is not one of them, and conflating the two is one of the oldest tricks in this industry.
• Present the World Health Organization's 2000 ranking — Colombia first in the Western Hemisphere, 22nd globally — as though it were current. It is from the 2000 World Health Report. It is historical context, not a scorecard for the clinic you are considering.
• Pressure anyone. There is no countdown timer here, no fake scarcity, and no drip sequence waiting for your email address.

How to verify anything we tell you

Every licensed health professional in Colombia appears in ReTHUS, the national health-workforce registry at rethus.sispro.gov.co. Ask any dentist for their full legal name and look them up. We will help you do it. If a clinic hesitates when you ask for a name you can verify, you have your answer.
